Quality & Lean Initiatives
Quality: ISO 9001:2015 Certified
Genco's quality system has been ISO Certified (click here for ISO Certificate) since 2004. ISO certification is recognized worldwide as an accepted standard of process quality. We use ISO to help document and measure the effectiveness of our quality system, and in turn monitor our progress towards continual improvement. Because ISO certification is an understood standard, we can use it to select vendors or subcontractors we work with.
Measures and Goals
Genco's Quality Goals include On-Time Delivery of 95% or better, along with a defective PPM (parts per million) Rate Below 1500. These measures, among others, are tracked and charted throughout the organization. This is one of the many ways we measure customer satisfaction.
Lean Manufacturing Practices
Genco began its journey into Lean Manufacturing in late 2007. The core principle behind Lean is to maximize customer value while minimizing waste. This is the simple goal of all our efforts throughout the lean transformation. By minimizing wastes we can improve quality, reduce cost and increase capacity...all resulting in better overall value for our customer. This drive is exhibited throughout all organizational levels. We empower our workforce and encourage feedback in everyday operations or while participating in Lean Improvement Team Projects. Whenever possible, manufacturing at Genco is performed in a cellular layout. Cell work is aimed at reducing rework, increasing visibility for planning, decreasing WIP and improving throughout.
IPC Quality Standards
IPC Quality Standards are centered on accept/reject criteria for assembly production. IPC/WHMA-A-620 is the first industry standard for cable and harness assemblies. Genco has personnel trained to the standard and uses it as an additional guide in manufacturing and acceptance/rejection criteria of product. We feel this training and practice further solidifies our commitment to quality and value to our customers.
